DVD: Living Your Deepest Wisdom

DVD: Living Your Deepest Wisdom

Autor/ Author: Adyashanti
Verlag/ Publ.: Open Gate

Most people are unconsciously velcroed to their experience; they are their experience and, as such, don't recognize how they are creating their own suffering through reactive patterns. Yet, upon awakening to our deeper nature, it is possible to notice a vital space between us and what is occurring in any moment; it is this space that allows for choice and options that can profoundly transform our lives. Adyashanti explores how to move from this space so that there is greater congruence between spiritual awakening and the way we express ourselves, thereby enabling us to live our deepest wisdom more fully.

Topics Include:

  •     Aligning with Life
  •     The Capacity for Fearlessness
  •     All Suffering Is Your Choice
  •     Awakening Just Opens the Door
  •     Taking Responsibility for Thought Patterns
  •     You Are Existence Knowing & Expressing Itself

Quotes from this DVD:
"Having a moment of clarity great or small that opens the door does not mean you have walked into the room."
"A large part of spiritual awakening is how to get the timeless and the human part working together."
"Everything arises in and exists within nothing at all."

"When you start feeling disconnected, your system is saying you are in a state of incongruence."
"There does not seem to be any end point to how we can express the deepest thing we know."

CD: Inside - Music for relaxation, meditation & therapy

CD: Inside - Music for relaxation, meditation & therapy

Interpret/ Artist: Goerke, Joachim

CD: Deep Inside - More Music for Relaxation and Meditation

Interpret/ Artist: Goerke, Joachim

CD: Pure Joy - Reine Freude

Interpret/ Artist: Joachim Goerke Piano Solo & Vocal

Hymns and more - Piano Songs for Silence

My secret is silence

My secret is silence

Autor/ Author: Adyashanti
Verlag/ Publ.: Open Gate

In this collection, Adyashanti’s heartful, lively poetry is woven together with short teachings and “one-liners” culled from journals, dharma talks, and dialogues with students.

With all the unpredictability of a dancing flame, Adyashanti celebrates life from the vantage of the laughing Buddha and gently invites the mystery to wake up to itself in the heart of the reader.

Throughout the book, Adyashanti illuminates the pathless path to sacred annihilation—the surrender into your own Divine self. Like the mystical love poetry of Rumi and Hafiz, the flame dances wildly, reverently, innocently, and playfully in this collection. This is a wonderful book for anyone who loves getting drunk on the truth or who still imagines they are thirsty and needs a long, sweet sip from the Beloved’s overflowing cup.
49 poems, 172 sayings

DVD: Behold the Fluidity of Truth

Autor/ Author: Adyashanti
Verlag/ Publ.: Open Gate

In this touching satsang, Adyashanti shares about the recent passing of his father and how one of the most beautiful things about death -- as in spirituality -- is discovering what is intimately most important to us. He also focuses on how the realization of every facet of reality is never ending, and with this understanding comes an unconfined freedom that embraces the great fluidity of perspectives.

  •     What’s Intimately Most Important
  •     Sharing Your Love
  •     Multiple Modes of Perception
  •     The Truth Is Never Ending
  •     Not Holding onto Realizations
  •     The Fluidity of Perspectives

Quotes from this DVD:
“When we remove the big words from spirituality like ‘awakening’ or ‘enlightenment,’ spirituality is about what is intimately most important.”
“The dimensions of perception beyond ego all have their limitations.”
“Whatever you realize is not the end of the story. There is no end.”
“When you realize there are many ways of seeing life, your fundamentalism goes out the window.”
“See your neighbor as whole and complete, and see them as other.”

Rumi: The Book of Love

Autor/ Author: Barks, Coleman
Verlag/ Publ.: HarperCollins

There are lovers content with longing. I'm not one of them. Rumi is best known for his poems expressing the ecstasies and mysteries of love of all kinds - erotic, divine, friendship - and Coleman Barks collects here the best of those poems, ranging from the "wholeness" one experiences with a true lover, to the grief of a lovers loss, and all the states in between: from the madness of sudden love to the shifting of a romance to deep friendship - these poems cover all "the magnificent regions of the heart."

In Coleman Barks' delightful and wise renderings, these poems will open your heart and soul to the lover inside and out.

The Subject Tonight Is Love

Autor/ Author: Ladinsky, Daniel
Verlag/ Publ.: Penguin Group UK

To Persians, the fourteenth-century poems of Hafiz are not classical literature from a remote past, but cherished love, wisdom, and humor from a dear and intimate friend. Perhaps, more than any other Persian poet, it is Hafiz who most fully accesses the mystical, healing dimensions of poetry.

Daniel Ladinsky has made it his life's work to create modern, inspired translations of the world's most profound spiritual poetry. Through Ladinsky's translations, Hafiz's voice comes alive across the centuries singing his message of love.

Illuminationen und Miniaturen

Anne-Elisabeth Seevers: Illuminationen & Miniaturen

Autor: Seevers, Anne-Elisabeth
Verlag: Eigenverlag

Entwicklungstrauma heilen

Entwicklungstrauma heilen

Autor/ Author: Heller, Laurence S.; LaPierre, Aline

In Gnade fallen

In Gnade fallen

Autor/ Author: Adyashanti
Verlag/ Publ.: Noumenon

Feeling the Shoulder of the Lion

Feeling the Shoulder of the Lion

Autor/ Author: Barks, Coleman
Verlag/ Publ.: Shambhala Publ.

These selections from Rumi's Mathnawi – a classic of Sufi spiritual literature – express the "lion's roar" of courage, discipline, clarity, and integrity. The lion represents the fierce intensity that recognizes no authority except the highest truth. At the same time, Rumi's lion is full of heart and devotion. Through these poems the reader will explore the qualities that are vital to the spiritual aspirant who seeks to overcome the imprisonment of ego.

Coleman Barks, Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, is Rumi's premier English translator. He lives in Athens, Georgia.

Love Poems from God

Autor/ Author: Ladinsky, Daniel
Verlag/ Publ.: Penguin Group UK

Sacred poetry from twelve mystics and saints
In this luminous collection, Daniel Ladinsky - best known for his gifted and bestselling interpretations of the great Sufi poet Hafiz - brings together the timeless work of twelve of the world's finest spiritual writers, six from the East and six from the West. Once again Ladinsky reveals his talent for creating profound and playful renditions of classic poems for a modern audience. Rumi's joyous, ecstatic love poems; St. Francis's loving observations of nature through the eyes of Catholicism; Kabir's wild, freeing humor that synthesizes Hindu, Muslim, and Christian beliefs; St. Teresa's sensual verse; and the mystical, healing words of Sufi poet Hafiz-these along with inspiring works by Rabia, Meister Eckhart, St. Thomas Aquinas, Mira, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and Tukaram are all "love poems by God," from writers considered to be "conduits of the divine." A spiritual treasure to cherish always.

Verlag/ Publ.: ISF Publishing

100 Conversations with Idries Shah

Condensed from over three million words, these conversations involve housewives and cabinet ministers, professors and assembly-line workers, on the subject of how traditional psychology can illuminate current human, social and spiritual problems.

True Meditation, Book and CD

True Meditation, Book and CD

Autor/ Author: Adyashanti
Verlag/ Publ.: Sounds True

True Meditation gives you the opportunity to reclaim the original purpose of meditation - as a gateway to "the objectless freedom of being."

What would happen if you were to allow everything to be exactly as it is? If you gave up the need for control, and instead embraced the whole of your experience in each moment that arose? In the 14 years that he studied Zen, Adyashanti found that most seasoned meditators had used the practice as "an end instead of a means to an end." What he ultimately realized was that only when you let go of all techniques—even the concept of yourself as a meditator—will you open to the art of True Meditation, dwelling in the natural state. True Meditation invites you to join the growing number of seekers who have been touched by the wisdom of Adyashanti to learn:

  • How to make the "effortless effort" that will vivify the present moment
  • Meditative self-inquiry and "The Way of Subtraction": how to ask a spiritually powerful question—and determine the real answer
  • Two guided meditations on CD intended to reveal what Adyashanti calls "your home as awareness itself"

"We've been taught that awakening is difficult," explains Adyashanti, "that to wake up from the illusion of separation takes years. But all it really takes is a willingness to look into the depths of your experience here and now." True Meditation gives you the opportunity to reclaim the original purpose of meditation—as a gateway to "the objectless freedom of being."

CD: Emptiness and Love

CD: Emptiness and Love

In this vibrant and impactful satsang, Adyashanti offers valuable clarity on how the teachings of emptiness differ from the teachings of love. He delineates how the spiritual journey is at first a negating process of identification; then, it is an orientation of affirming every experiential aspect of life. When our emptiness nature comes back in and fully encounters our humanity -- both the sublime and horrific experiences -- it is the love of it all that allows liberation to fully bloom.

Topics Include:

  •     Teachings on Spacious Being
  •     Transitioning from the Loss of Will
  •     The Orientation of Negating vs. Affirming
  •     What Is Absolute Intimacy?
  •     Adya's View of Love
  •     Awakening Love's Deeper Instincts
  •     Saying "No" without Disconnection
  •     How Love Closes the Gap

Quotes from this CD Set:
"You can have a Ramana-like experience of emptiness, but have a hell of time returning from that."
"The completion of space is love."
"There is a love that comes out of being connected out of our humility, where we connect from the very foundation."

Love's Ripening: Rumi on the Heart's Journey

Love's Ripening: Rumi on the Heart's Journey

Autor/ Author: Helminsky, Kabir
Verlag/ Publ.: Shambhala Publ.

Love is the meaning of our existence, the raw material of transformation, the glorious way of access to Divine intimacy. This teaching infuses the lyric verse of Rumi (1207–1273), the greatest of the Sufi poets. The poems in this collection, taken from among the master’s many volumes of work, focus on one of his greatest themes: how love grows and matures for those on the spiritual path. Kabir Helminski and Ahmad Rezwani have crafted a translation that remains faithful to the original Persian while giving eloquent expression to the joy of Rumi’s astonishing encounter with the Divine.

Kabir Helminski is the author of Living Presence: A Sufi Way to Mindfulness and the Essential Self, as well as the translator of numerous books of Sufi literature and especially Rumi. He is the codirector, with his wife, Camille Helminski, of the Threshold Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the knowledge and practice of Sufism. As the publisher of Threshold Books for some twenty years, he was largely responsible for making Rumi the most widely read poet of our time. As a producer and writer of Sufi music, he has gained recognition for numerous recordings, including his own Garden within the Flames. He is a representative of the Mevlevi tradition founded by Jalaluddin Rumi.

Camille Helminski is codirector, with her husband, Kabir Helminski, of the Threshold Society of Santa Cruz, California. She holds an honorary doctorate in Arabic from the University of Damascus and the World Union of Writers (Paris).

CD: Whirling

CD: Whirling

Interpret/ Artist: Tekbilek, Omar Faruk

Omar Faruk Tekbilek had been studying Sufism, the mystical branch of Islam, with the thought of becoming a Sufi cleric. At 15, he quit school to become a professional musician. "But I never quit studying, though," he maintains. "In fact, I am still studying; it's endless. Music for me is not something to show off. It's my life. It's the shortest path to God. Playing is prayer for me." He went to Istanbul and at the age of 17 met the Mevlevi Dervishes, the ancient Sufi order of Turkey. He did not join the order, but felt profoundly influenced by their mystical approach to sound and to the spirit. Another, almost equally mystical influence would soon appear, from an unlikely source. The young Tekbilek became friend with flute and saxophone player named Ismet Siral, who had some unusual ideas about music theory. "He would say things like, let's play for birds, let's play for pictures." OFT says about Burhan Tonguch, his rhythm teacher: "He put the idea in my mind that everything is a rhythmic instrument. And everyone is a percussionist. Without the strike, there is no sound."

Despite, or perhaps because of, this unconventional outlook, Faruk's skills were much in demand in the studios of Istanbul, and in 1971, at the age of 20, made his first brief tour of the United States with a Turkish classical/folk ensemble. The Tree of Patience was about to put out an unexpected limb. "I try to play a song the way it's supposed to be," Faruk explains. "If I play an Arabic song, I use an Arabic style; if I play a Turkish song, I use a Turkish style."

Faruk feels a strong affinity for Arabic music, which differs in several important ways from the Turkish tradition. As a child he spent a lot of time listening to Radio Kairo and became acquainted with the giant musicians of that time like Umm Kulthum, Abdul Wahab, Abdl Halim Hafez, Farid al-Atraš, Fairuz, Sabah Fakhri. Because he was playing the flute he was inspired by the melodies and the sound of ney (nay). He was also inspired by Sheikh Abdul Basit 'Abd us-Samad recitations of the holy Qur'an whom his father was listening a lot.

Faruk pauses, considers, and then admits, "Sometimes I can't keep myself from making a bridge between them. I just try to listen to the song; it will tell me what it wants to be." The process of creating his own songs is similar: "There is no set formula or method", he says. "Each song comes out in a different way."

Sufism-An Introduction to the Mystical Tradition of Islam

Sufism-An Introduction to the Mystical Tradition of Islam

Autor/ Author: Ernst, Carl W.

Verlag/ Publ.: Shambhala Publ.

The Sufis are as diverse as the countries in which they've flourished—from Morocco to India to China—and as varied as their distinctive forms of art, music, poetry, and dance. They are said to represent the mystical heart of Islam, yet the term Sufism is notoriously difficult to define, as it means different things to different people both within and outside the tradition. With that fact in mind, Carl Ernst explores the broadest range of Sufi philosophies and practices to provide one of the most complete and comprehensive introductions to Sufism available in English. He traces the history of the movement from the earliest days of Islam to the present day, along the way examining its relationship to the larger world of Islam and its encounters with both fundamentalism and secularism in the modern world.

Carl W. Ernst is an award-winning specialist in Islamic studies, whose work has been mainly devoted to the study of three areas: general and critical issues of Islamic studies, premodern and contemporary Sufism, and Indo-Muslim culture. He has received research fellowships from the Fulbright program, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, and he has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His current research projects include studies of Muslim interpreters of Indian religions, and a translation of the Arabic poetry of al-Hallaj.

CD: Goceano - der ganze Ozean in einem Tropfen (2 CD)

Autor/ Author: Ahura - Mohammad Eghbal

CD: Hafiz - The Scent of Light

CD: Hafiz - The Scent of Light

Autor/ Author: Daniel Ladinsky, lyrics; Stevin McNamara, music

Verlag/ Publ.: Sounds True

In modern-day Persia, the 14th-century poet Hafiz remains the most treasured voice of his homeland—a place where his work outsells Rumi, and even the Koran. Yet only recently have Westerners come to know this wild Sufi mystic's astonishing verses on love and spiritual longing.

Now, with Hafiz: The Scent of Light, you will join Daniel Ladinsky—the acclaimed translator of The Gift—to revel in more than 30 of Hafiz' most stirring works. Offered here in the manner that Hafiz composed them, namely spoken or sung spontaneously amid companions and inspired music, each of these exquisite love songs (ghazals) shimmers with a nuance, depth, and passion rarely captured in previous translations.

Hafiz once said: "A poet is someone who can pour light into a cup, then raise it to nourish your beautiful parched holy mouth." From his vision of an all-embracing Beloved who sees beyond our religious beliefs to his revelations on the oneness of worldly ecstasy and spiritual awakening, Hafiz continues to pour the light of his poetry forth today.

Music composed and performed by Stevin McNamara (sitar and nylon string guitar), with special guest artists and composers Steve Gorn (bansuri flute), Jeffrey Rodgers (tabla, santoor, ethnic drums, percussion), Annette Cantor (vocals), Pandit S.N. Sopori (drupad/khyal/tarana singing), Bhushan Sopori (tabla), and Aurelia Roze (violin). Read by Nataraja Kallio.

Rumi's short poems have many tones and effects: some of them are quick, joyful, and whimsical; some are finely faceted abstract statements; some probe the inward space of patience and longing. Moyne and Barks translated these poems using a free-verse style, connecting these poems with great American spiritual poets such as Walt Whitman and Gary Snyder.

Coleman Barks, Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, is Rumi's premier English translator. He lives in Athens, Georgia. John Moyne is a Persian scholar and Emeritus Professor and former head of Linguistics at the Graduate School of the City University of New York.

CD: Alhamdolellah - Sufisongs

CD: Alhamdolellah

Autor/ Author: Ahura - Mohammad Eghbal

Mohammad Eghbal
